Welcome and thank you for your interest in the Georgia Business Aviation Association. As an aviation industry member you recognize the value of business aviation and what it has to offer to our economy and our lives. However in the past, business and general aviation interests have been unfairly portrayed and misrepresented through the media and by our politicians among our community. It is our mission to promote business aviation in the State of Georgia, as well as to educate and advance the recognition of business aviation and its importance to the economy of the state.
We continue to be committed to producing quality, timely events concerning special topics of interest to Business and General Aviation. In 2010, we produced eight special events that ranged from a Global & Domestic Regulatory Compliance Event to our Inaugural Wings Up & Wheels Down Charity Motorcycle Ride. Our first charity ride raised an additional $5,000 for the 2011 Scholarship Fund. Our Annual Members Meeting and Golf Tournament was highlighted by David Rimmer, Executive VP of ExcelAire awarding scholarships to students and aviation professionals. To date, the GBAA has awarded over $150,000.00 to 58 students and members! We ended the year with a Business Aviation Maintenance Seminar - Inspection Authorization Refresher and an SM4 Event featuring Dr. Tony Kern. We are planning to produce many more special events that promise to be of particular interest to business aviation in 2011. We invite you to join other Georgia business aircraft operators and service providers in promoting our shared aviation interests by becoming a member. While other organizations best address the national issues or are social clubs, the Georgia Business Aviation Association exists to uphold the voice of aviation in Georgia. Fly safe, David Small Chairman, GBAA | GBAA MISSION STATEMENT
