Thank
you to all who attended the luncheon. It turned out to be
a well-attended event with loads of good information.
Dave
Small, GBAA Chair, kicked off the meeting by speaking about
GBAA recent events and initiatives. He highlighted GBAA's
involvement with the Fulton County Airport Tower Closure,
Wildlife Fencing at FTY, the scholarship program and future
events such as the October Emergency Response Seminar.
After
David, NBAA's President and CEO, Ed Bolen took the stage
to discuss the recent happenings and overall strategy of
NBAA. He discussed the vision and objectives of NBAA being
a powerful voice for general aviation. To work on Capital
Hill and beyond to address issues such as user fees, access,
airspace, and safety.
Lisa
Piccione, NBAA's Senior Vice President of Government Affairs,
continued the theme by discussing what each of GBAA's members
can do to contirbute. Lisa introduced the NBAA
Grassroots Center to assist NBAA, GBAA and all its members
contact Congress.
The
session ended with a very informative presentation by Ed
Ratigan, Manager of Aviation Programs for the Georgia DOT.
Ed outlined the various tasks and agendas by their department.
He also provided very infomative information about how Georgia's
aviation infrastructure stacks up against the rest of southeastern

Thank
